Today I visited Peterborough Museum, which has just
re-opened after a 15 month closure for redevelopment, costing of £3million.
The museum itself is situated in a lovely old building which
has been used for many different aspects in its past, the most interesting as a
hospital. There were many worthwhile displays, local history like the Norman
Cross Napoleonic prison, The Fens and a history of Peterborough.
I did enjoy the ‘Open Gallery’ which included
paintings, photographs and sculptures from artists with varied backgrounds.
This is something which is run every two years, so it’s something for me to
consider entering in two years time
