I read an interesting article on ‘Julia Margaret Cameron’ and working relationship with the famous poet ‘Tennyson’. The majority of her works were theatrical in nature and some of these were used in the published poems of ‘Tennyson’.  Many of the early works were not successful, so persevering with your work has not changed in over one hundred years...
