Tonight I visited the Peterborough Photographic Society for
a talk by ‘Dave Butcher’, a photographer based in the Peak District who only
shoots black and white film. The presentation took in trips to America,
Scandinavia, the Lake District and some Cityscapes.
I really liked some of the prints, which was a relief as I
had viewed some of the images online beforehand and I was not totally
impressed. This proves that one of my views is right; photographs look much
better printed, in particular when in black and white. The Cityscapes and Lake
District images were excellent.
I even purchased the book on the Lake District!
