For the next two days I am visiting London, something I have
been looking to do for a while, in particular with no OCA constraints with
exercises or assignments dictating my photography. I had a good day practising some street
photography around central London, some of which is already receiving great
feedback on social media.
I visited the ‘National Portrait Gallery’ today and viewed
three different exhibitions. The first of these was a small exhibition, ‘Starring
Vivien Leigh: A Centenary Celebration’. The second exhibition was ‘Michael
Peto: Mandela to McCartney’, which was a collection of images from the 1950’s
onwards of some of the most famous people of the last one hundred years.
The third and final exhibition was the main reason for
visiting today, ‘Bailey’s Stardust’. I really enjoyed this, probably my second
favourite exhibition from the last few years after ‘Ansel Adams’. This
exhibition covered a number of his portraits, including a lot of his wife ‘Catherine
Dyer’. I made sure I walked around twice, took in the compositions, lighting
and styles of a true great.
